This part demonstrates how to configure X when using VIA Graphics Driver without XRandR extension. All of the configuration content relates to X config file which locates at /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Currently, XRandR Extension is enabled by default. In that case, the configuration is quite different from this part. Regarding to the configuration with the XRandR extension enabled, please directly turn to Part IV. Configuration Instructions when Using the XRandR Extension.

However, if you want to disable the XRandR extension, add the line below to Section "ServerLayout".

Option "RandR"     "False"

And modify the X config file according to the sample provided in Appendix C. X Config Sample (Not Using the XRandR Extension).

There are some common configurations whenever the XRandR extension is enabled or not. If you haven't found some instructions in this part, please turn to Part V. More Configuration Instructions.
